KLETC Extends Thanksgiving Break

Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center building

Last week I provided an update regarding our efforts to manage the safety of students, staff, and guests on our campus.  Our staff continues to experience increased levels of COVID exposures, and currently 50% of our instructional staff has tested positive.

To ensure the health and wellness of our staff, students, and the communities we serve, KLETC will be extending the Thanksgiving break by one week, and suspending classes from November 16 – November 27, 2020.  This will give KLETC staff and students the opportunity to recuperate.  KLETC staff will continue to work during the suspension of classes.

As the Director of Police Training, I consider this as an announcement that the training center is “closed or otherwise will not conduct basic training courses” as used in KAR 106-3-2. Students, therefore, may work as an officer during this two-week period.

Classes will resume on the KLETC campus on November 30, 2020.

Thank you,
