Supervising Use of Force
It is critical for agencies to have supervisors at all levels who are competent and knowledgeable in objectively reasonable use of force. This course is designed to equip law enforcement supervisors with the necessary knowledge and skills to effectively oversee and manage the use of force incidents. Many times, officers promote through the ranks without receiving the training and tools needed to prepare their staff for use of force encounters. The focus will be on understanding the critical elements of use of force, managing use of force incidents, conducting thorough debriefs to extract valuable lessons from each incident, reviewing reports and articulating actions, and analyzing incidents to improve performance. This course will address all the above and more so your agency will have supervisors who are prepared to handle any incident that may occur within their agency.
This course will be for supervisors of all levels, but also trainers, FTO’s, and those interested in use of force will benefit.
This course was selected and will be presented at the 2024 ILEETA Conference as part of the presentation schedule.
