Darren Baker

Darren joined KLETC in September 2016.  He retired after 29 years with the Gurnee, Illinois Police Department. As an officer he has held the following positions: SWAT team member, undercover drug agent, undercover drug supervisor, DT instructor, range officer, Use of Force instructor, detective, SRO among others.  He spent nearly 9 years as an Illinois State Police Academy instructor, A Use of Force instructor at the Criminal Justice Institute, and he taught drug identification classes for the Northeast Multi-Regional Training (NEMRT).  

Darren holds a bachelor’s degree from Concordia University and is finishing his master’s degree from Western Illinois University.
