This will be a “Train the Trainer” course that covers various aspects to using an RDS (Red Dot Sight) equipped handgun. Learn about and how to employ your handgun with an attached RDS.

 

Outline:

Optic science

Optic selection and concerns

Administrative and SOP development for MRDS use (LE)

Duty carry/CCW Carry

Understanding hand/eye coordination

Firearm fundamentals applied to the MRDS

Understanding of diagnostics through the MRDS

Stress inoculation

Threat anatomy

Drawing from IWB/OWB

Tactical and emergency reloads with reacquisition of the MRDS

Austere shooting positions

Transitions using an MRDS Pistol

Maximizing and recognizing adequate cover/concealment/deflection

Basic movements

Optic malfunctions/handgun malfunctions



Required Equipment:

Ear and eye protection

Pistol (caliber: 9mm or larger) with a holster

3-5 mags

100 rounds of Duty ammunition

1200 - 1500 rounds of ammunition

1-2 mag pouches

Water

Personal Individual FIrst aid kit (Gear to be used on you)

Marker

Notepad



Additional but not required equipment:

Knee pads

Spare Firearm

Snacks/Lunch

Cleaning kit w/ oil

Rain gear and sunscreen (depending on weather)
