Friday afternoon, Integrity Auditorium was filled with family and friends of the 346th Basic Training Class as they graduated from the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC). The graduates took their oath of office and are now prepared to return to their communities to serve and protect.

Police Instructor Senior and Class Coordinator Nef Torres introduced the class, followed by remarks from Kansas State Senator Stephen Owens, who expressed his gratitude for their commitment to public service.
“Law enforcement and public safety truly are not just jobs, but callings rooted in service, sacrifice, and love for your community,” Senator Owens said. “Today, you join that proud tradition. You are the next generation of guardians who will protect our people, our neighborhoods, and our way of life.”
Class President Deputy Marcos Soliz of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office also addressed the audience, offering words of encouragement to his classmates.
“The Academy may end today, but the true test begins tomorrow,” Soliz said. “Every choice made in and out of uniform will reflect not only on ourselves, but on this class and on the entire profession of law enforcement. Carry the same determination, teamwork, and resilience that brought us here into every challenge ahead.”
The ceremony marked another milestone in KLETC’s mission to train and prepare the next generation of Kansas law enforcement officers.
Under the authority of Vice Provost and Director of Police Training Darin Beck, graduates received certificates attesting the satisfactory completion of a full-time basic course of instruction, and certification as Kansas law enforcement officers from the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training, the state’s Law enforcement licensing authority.
