A packed house filled Integrity Auditorium at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center (KLETC) Friday, September 13, as friends and families gathered to celebrate the 18 graduates of the 330th Basic Training Class. KLETC Police Instructor Senior Bryan Carey, Class Coordinator for the graduating class, introduced the graduates, followed by commencement speaker Representative Steven Owens (R), of the 74th district of Kansas. Owens spoke about the importance of law enforcement and its role in his life, as his son-in-law graduated from KLETC a few years ago.

"I see firsthand the dedication and challenges that come with this profession. His experience reminds me daily of the courage and resilience required in this line of work. It is truly a source of great pride for me to witness his commitment and sacrifice, just as it is for each of you,” Owens said.

Class President Officer Anthony Allison, of the Parsons Police Department, also addressed the graduates, speaking on the values of integrity and hard work, as well as the relationships formed within the class. "As we prepare to step out into the world, I urge you to carry integrity like armor, approach every challenge with the strong work ethic we have honed, and remember the team that stood by you through thick and thin,” Allison said.

Under the authority of Vice Provost and Director of Police Training Darin Beck, graduates received certificates attesting the satisfactory completion of a full-time basic course of instruction, and certification as Kansas law enforcement officers from the Kansas Commission on Peace Officers’ Standards and Training, the state’s Law enforcement licensing authority.
