Conflict Resolution for Law Enforcement Leadership
The ability to resolve conflict is often at the heart of a law enforcement officer's day. Through trial and error, we find techniques that work for us, at least most of the time. But by understanding the science behind conflict and the different ways that it can be resolved, we can better adapt and work our way through different types of conflict to a successful conclusion.
In this course, we will introduce conflict theory, intervention strategies and techniques for managing difficult conversations and situations that a law enforcement professional will encounter. We will discuss generational differences and how our upbringing influences the way we address conflict.
Participants will also learn how conflict and hard conversations differ in their private lives as well as internal and external conflicts at work. Participants will explore the science behind conflict resolutions and gain new tools and skills so they can better defuse difficult situations and build trust by interacting in a more intentional way.
