Child Sexual Abuse Investigations: Practical Guidance for Investigators
Many times, law enforcement personnel are faced with investigating child sexual abuse cases with little to no formal training on the subject. This can lead to a lack of action taken by the law enforcement official as they simply do not know what to do, and often have supervisors who cannot provide appropriate guidance for them in these cases. This inability to take action leaves children in dangerous situations and allows abusers to continue abusing these children. It is our duty as police to protect people, especially children, our most vulnerable population.
