The Pittsburg, Kansas, Police Department will be hosting a three-day Field Training Officer certification event.

 

The presenter for this course is Sgt. Shawn Dodson, MBA, of the Joplin Police Department, and he will be providing instruction over the San Jose model for field training. 

 

Sgt. Dodson has been a law enforcement instructor for 19 years, and in 2016 he was appointed as the Director of the Joplin Police Department’s training operations.  Additionally, Sgt. Dodson is a FTO Certification Course Instructor for the Missouri Southern State University Police Academy.

 

This training event will be held at the Pittsburg Police Department, located at 201 N. Pine St., Pittsburg, Kansas, and will be limited to only 32 students.  Class dates are Wednesday, October 5th, 2022, through Friday, October 7th, 2022, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, (lunch will be on your own).

 

The class fee is $329.00 per student.  Please make checks payable to the City of Pittsburg.
